Oncology on Navajo

A movement to bring cancer treatment (oncology) to the Navajo Nation in Tuba City is happening now! Local tribal champions have partnered with national experts to establish the first oncology program on any Indian reservation in the country. Up to two hundred patients annually will receive culturally appropriate clinical treatment and patient assistance.

Cancer Patient Assistance

Tuba City Hospital will soon provide psychosocial support to patients and their families who are fighting and surviving cancer.  Services will include:

  • Group Counseling
  • Disease and Treatment Resources
  • Healthy Lifestyle Classes

All services are free for the whole family!

Clinical Cancer Therapy

Two nationally board certified oncologists will provide comprehensive cancer care to patients at Tuba City Hospital. Dr. Frank Dalichow and Dr. Johanna DiMento are committed to bringing 21st century health care to Navajo, Hopi and San Juan Southern Paiute cancer patients. Drs Dalichow and DiMento will provide culturally sensitive, quality care close to where patients live, work and pray.
